Everybody loves quality shoes. But sometimes you cannot find a pair because shoes are scattered all around your house and do not have their own spot. Now, there's a great way to create your own 10 pair shoe cubby to put near your front door where the shoes must be placed. This task will take 4 to 6 hours to finish, and it is a cheap way to solve a disorder problem.
Step #1
Toy Cubby
Have all the pieces of the wood cut at the lumber or hardware store or do cut yourself at home making use of a saw. After cutting the woods, use a sand paper to make the wood smooth.
Step #2
Paint each side of all of the wood making use of a foam paintbrush. After the woods are completely dry, paint it again for a second coating. Apply an acrylic coat; let it dry completely; and put another coating.
Step #3
Utilize a tape measure to mark where the bottom, middle, and top boards will divide with the sides of the shoe cubby pieces. Mark them twelve inches crossways on each wood to make ten cubbyholes.
Step #4
Create the "carcass" of the shoe cubbies by attaching the top, bottom and 2 sides together to make a rectangle. Put nails every six inches for best attachment. Measure and make markings on the center of the 2 sides and attach in the middle shelf. Turn the "carcass" on its front view and attach the wood back to the sides, top, and bottom.
Step #5
Stand the "carcass" up and put a square side at the mark twelve inches from the bottom shelf. Put glue on back side, top, and bottom edge before attaching it to assure a great attachment. Attach the square through the middle shelf using a nail in the center, at the front, and in the back. Put the next square twelve inches over, on the mark, and persist to nail it in. Complete this row to make 5 twelve inches wide shoe cubbyholes.
Step #6
Finish the top row of shoe cubbyholes in the same method. Attach the back, top, and bottom edges when you put them in place, and then attach from the top down into every square. The glue will securely hold the bottom edges of every square, and the top nailing would guarantee that the shoe cubby sides remain in position.
